SSL Gold Cup African and Oceanian Qualifier Day 1

A promising start for the Moroccan Atlas Lions on the first day of the SSL Gold Cup Africa and Oceania Qualifier saw them holding second place for much of the first race, until the fast-charging and experienced Tahiti team overhauled them on the final leg to the finish.

A storm then hit Lake Neuchâtel sending the fleet ashore, but conditions look great for Wednesday afternoon, which should allow three races to be held, bringing the schedule back on track.

The team demonstrated excellent crew work throughout the race, and will be looking forward to steadier conditions to start climbing the leaderboard to try and secure a place at the Finals in Rio.
