The excitement is building as sailors from across Africa and Oceania prepare to compete for a place on the world stage.
Only two days to go until the African and Oceania Qualifiers get underway!
Tomorrow, we will gather for the Opening Ceremony at 7:00 PM in the Fan Zone next to the Marina Yacht Club, Parc de Salle des Quais. The evening will include the official team welcome, speeches, and a chance for everyone to come together before the competition begins.
Tomorrow will also be the anthem recording session. This is an important moment for all teams, as each athlete represents not only themselves but also their nation. Hearing your national anthem played on the podium is one of the greatest honors in sport and a powerful reminder of what we are competing for.
The forecast suggests a windy week ahead, with more than 15 knots expected on the first day of racing on Tuesday. It will be a stunning beginning, with plenty of challenges waiting out on the race course.
Stay tuned!
